I LOVE Nashville, but more so I love the people in the photo above! That’s why it was so special that they were there to celebrate my Nashville Business Journal NBJ’s 40 Under 40 Awards tonight at Omni Nashville Hotel.
At our table was my awesome husband, Geoff Hurdle, who never fails to rally and go hard at life with my hand in his; my kids, Brittany and Derek, who truly don’t know what “normal” is, yet have thrived, and who roll with and love their crazy mama; Abby Siegel Hyman, who has championed our brand with *mad PR and marketing skills*…and who’s been on (er, survived) this whirlwind journey with me; and her husband, Deric Hyman, who supports his amazing power woman and who even comes to play with us sometimes; my incredible parents, Jim Erickson & Robyn Erickson, who taught me that people come first, and who stand by me during the wins like this and when I’ve acted the total fool; and my mentor (and many people’s mentors) Pete, who’s simultaneously supported me and pushed me to places I never even knew I could go; and importantly, his wife Katie, who is CEO of the House of Weien, and who makes it possible for Pete to invest so richly into so many.
No one’s journey is paved on their own. These folks, among many, surely helped paved my path to this night! I’m so grateful!
